Sleeping in a Beehive
Sleeping in a Beehive is a unique lodging at the Carniolan Bee House, as its interior is a homage to the architecture and workings of a bee’s home. Spend the night in the rooms that have been designed as innovative wooden honeycomb cells, and then socialise during the day in our hive hangouts and visit the largest experiential bee exhibition in the world.
The Carniolan Bee House is home to the second most common bee species, the Carniolan honey bee, the pride of Slovenia. They were sent into the wide world by the first great bee entrepreneur and innovator around these parts, Baron Emil Rothschütz. Today, the House hosts contemporary innovators, connects the local community, and invites visitors from around the world.
The Carniolan Bee House always carries the aroma of wood and honey. Breakfast is included in the price of Sleeping in a Beehive. Free parking and access to a wi-fi network are also available. As bees are social beings, you will also share some of the areas; bathroom, kitchenette, and the hive hangouts. You are also welcomed to visit the glass beehive with live bees inside the Carniolan Bee House, as well as the Tourist Information Centre and the café.
Višnja Gora is only 1.5 kilometers from the highway that connects Zagreb and Ljubljana, and the House is just 25 kilometres away from Ljubljana.
