Sleep in the Beehive is a unique accommodation at the House of the Carniolan Bee, inspired by the architecture and functioning of a bee home. Stay overnight in rooms designed as innovative wooden honeycomb cells, and during the day socialize in the buzzing lounges and visit the world’s largest experiential exhibition about bees.
The House of the Carniolan Bee is the home of the second most widespread bee species, the Carniolan grey bee, a source of Slovenian pride. It was introduced to the world by the country’s first great beekeeping entrepreneur and innovator, Baron Rothschütz. Today, the House hosts contemporary innovators, connects the local community, and welcomes visitors from all over the world.
At the House of the Carniolan Bee, the air always smells of wood and honey. Breakfast is included in the price of Sleep in the Beehive. Free parking and wireless internet access are available. Like social bees, guests share certain spaces: the bathroom, a kitchenette, and the communal buzzing lounges. At the House of the Carniolan Bee, you can also visit a glass beehive with live bees, the tourist information center, and the café.

Those seeking a bit more space and privacy can stay in one of four town apartments located in the immediate vicinity of the House of the Carniolan Bee.
The apartments are luxuriously furnished and offer all the comfort needed even for longer stays. They are suitable for couples, families, business travelers, and digital nomads. Each apartment is named after a historical figure who left a mark on Višnja Gora over the centuries: Rozalija (Codelli) – 5 guests, Sofija (Višnjegorska) – 5 guests, Janez (Cigler) – 2 guests, Mihaela (Zajc-Jarc) – 2 guests.
The apartments are housed in a unique building with a long history, carefully restored with great respect for its past. It has preserved its historical identity: massive walls, the memory of a former drawbridge, and the character of a house that has always stood guard at the city gate. The apartments of the House of the Carniolan Bee are therefore not merely a place to stay, but a space of memory, meeting, and peaceful retreat at the crossroads of history and the present.
